It’d been a decade since the 4G LTE was launched. And back in 2011, devices like the HTC Thunderbolt were being reviewed, as consumers marveled in its unique features.
The two companies are at loggerheads with each other for the share of the 5G market. That is why you are probably going to choose either of them when the 5G network finally rolls out in the coming year.
And as competition becomes fiercer for these companies, it would force prices down, which would be great for consumers. The law f demand and supply will play out here as competition for space, and the 5G market keeps growing.
Samsung and Apple setting the pace
iPhone and Galaxy are leading the world when it comes to smartphones, and Samsung and Apple currently dominate the U.S. market. But other brands are catching up pretty quickly. However, the iPhone and Galaxy remain the most popular in the world’s smartphone market.
And as the nature of ubiquity, people tend to gravitate towards what they see often. With that in mind, there could be more demand for iPhone and Galaxy as both companies roll out their 5G-enabled devices.
Apple and Samsung continue to expand
As if their dominance was not enough, these two brands have continued to grow within the last two years, even before the launch of the 5G technology.
It means that they are well-positioned to delve into the market with confidence, knowing their products are accepted worldwide. The main challenge now would be who could outperform the other between the two. Inevitably, the competition and struggle for market share would force the prices of 5G devices down.
Apple and Samsung adjust marketing strategies
Apple and Samsung have adapted their marketing strategies for their devices. They are no longer concentrating on a single smartphone hero. Instead, the idea is to push two smartphones and give them all the recognition and marketing activities they need.
Besides, while they are busy pushing their best smartphones to the market, they are not relenting in their effort to maintain other less expensive markets.
With this strategy, both companies do not want to leave any section of the market. They are carrying everyone along, including those who can afford the more expensive smartphones and the affordability market.
Rumors are flying around that Apple will release an affordable smartphone that will have 5G capability. The company plans to offer different classes and levels of phones to different types of users. There would be high-end models and those that are relatively affordable. Also, all the phones would be enabled for 5G.
Other brands are gradually gaining momentum and are poised to give themselves a fighting chance as the world moves into the 5G spectrum. Brands like OPPO, Xiaomi, and Huawei are growing extraordinarily.
In the 3rd quarter of last year, Apple’s iPhone XR topped the list while two of Samsung’s Galaxy phones came 2nd and 3rd respectively. A surprise package was OPPO 49, which came 4th on the list.
